Cambodia Casinos

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from next door Thailand, in which casino gambling is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively small location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are apparently needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship gambling den, contains 150 slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel building that contains many conveniences aside from the gambling den, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 tables.
