Cambodia Gambling Halls

[ English ]

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall betting is banned. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are means around this, as is real of many borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that features many luxuries on top of the gambling den, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight tables.
